VPREP of WV is celebrating the Hour of Code during Computer Science Week on December 4-10!
We are incorporating coding events in our classrooms this week and challenging students to host their own events in their community—share with families, friends, neighbors, church groups, boy or girl scouts, etc.
Computers are everywhere, changing every industry, but only 51% of all high schools offer computer science. The good news is we are on our way to changing this! If you have heard about the Hour of Code, you might know it made history. More than 100 million students have participated. With the Hour of Code, computer science has been on the homepages of Google, MSN, Yahoo!, and Disney. Over 100 partners have joined together to support this movement. Every Apple Store in the world has hosted an HOC event.
This year, let’s make it even bigger! Please get involved with an HOC event.
Get the word out. Host an event. Try the HOC yourself—everyone can benefit from learning the basics.
