Academic Overview

Our K-12 online public school curriculum offers rich and engaging content that has been carefully designed to meet the standards required by the state of West Virginia. At Virtual Preparatory Academy of West Virginia, students are engaged in their academics, participating in a variety of activities and assessments appropriate to the courses being studied, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.

Elementary

The elementary school years prepare students by teaching them vital subjects, such as reading, science, and mathematics. During these formative years, they also develop critical thinking skills, learn to solve problems, understand abstract ideas, and develop time management skills that will help lay the foundation for future success.

Middle school is a crucial time for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We strive to provide a relevant, engaging, and challenging curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, meets their individual needs, and prepares them for high school.

Today’s High school students have grown up in the digital age and use online technology to connect and learn. They respond to a curriculum that is innovative and engaging. We offer an array of online public school courses for them, including core subjects, honors & AP classes, and career readiness courses tailored to prepare them for life after high school.
