Our K-11 online public-school curriculum offers rich and engaging content that has been carefully designed to meet the standards required by the state of West Virginia. At Virtual Preparatory Academy of West Virginia, students are engaged in their academics, participating in a variety of activities and assessments appropriate to the courses being studied, including labs, journals, written assignments, discussions, group and individual projects, formative assessments, objective tests, and written exams.
The elementary school years prepare students by teaching them vital subjects, such as reading, science and mathematics. During these formative years, they also develop critical thinking skills, learn to solve problems, understand abstract ideas, and time management skills that will help lay the foundation for future success.
The middle school years are an important time for the development of critical thinking and problem-solving strategies. We strive to provide a relevant, engaging, and challenging curriculum that is developmentally appropriate, meets their individual needs, and prepares them for high school.
High school students of today have grown up in the digital age and use online technology to connect and learn. They respond to curriculum that is innovative and engaging. We offer an array of online public school courses for them to choose from, including core subjects, honors & AP classes, and career readiness courses that are tailored to prepare them for life after high school.
