Congratulations to Josef Green, Virtual Preparatory Academy of West Virginia’s 2024 Golden Horseshoe winner! Since 1931, the West Virginia Department of Education has honored students as knights of the Golden Horseshoe for having demonstrated exceptional knowledge of West Virginia history on the state-administered exam.
This year, 227 winners will join the ranks of West Virginia citizens who have won this prestigious award. Josef will have an opportunity to be recognized at the Golden Horseshoe ceremony on June 11, 2024, at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston.
“Josef is our school’s first Golden Horseshoe recipient. We’re excited to celebrate this achievement with his teachers and family,” said Head of School Tracey J. Beckley. “Josef is a shining example of academic excellence, and we applaud his passion for state history.”
